Proud members of the BLLHG
The group meets every month at the Bridgeton Library in the new Olympia building and are presently compiling memories and anecdotes from Bridgetons rich and colourful past.
From tenement life, school days, local industry and how we used to entertain ourselves in the past.
We are keen to speak to anyone with memories and stories that they would like to share.
Why not come along and join us for a cuppa and some banter.
Next meeting..

Group Update

The Bridgeton Library Local History Group met for the first time in Spring 2013 and the group has been creating an oral history of Bridgeton from the 1950s until the 1970s, a period of great change.

Topics covered include domestic and tenement life, work life, and school life. Many happy memories are being recalled, as well as some more challenging aspects of life in Bridgeton during this period.

The group are now proud to have had their valuable work published by Clyde Gateway and the Heritage Lottery Fund as “Bridgeton Recollections from a Time of Change”
